At one point in our lives, we all carry debt. Sometimes this debt gets out of control and we become tied down to it. It begins to cause problems for us in our daily lives. Sometimes it seems we have no way out and that it will always be this way. Well, there is always a way out. Below are 5 steps that will help you break free.


5 tips to break free from debt

1. Realize that debt doesn’t have to be forever

Yes, you are debt now. But if you make a choice to get out of debt, you can do it. It is not a life sentence. You have the power to change this. You need to believe that is only temporary and you have the power to change it.

2. Make a commitment to free yourself

After you realize you can do it, you have to make a solid commitment. Write it down. You want to be debt free by a specific date. If you don’t set a date, then its just a dream. A foal with a date is reality.

3. List out all of your debts and obligations

Take all of your debts and any obligation that you must pay monthly. Be sure you list everything.

4. Make a repayment plan

Take all of your debts and figure out which one you can pay off the quickest. Make the minimum payments on everything else and put everything extra on the smallest debt you have. Once its paid off, that is once less payment you have to make. Take that extra money and then begin to focus on the next item on your list. Once its done, repeat the process. Before long, you will really build some momentum and get yourself in great shape.

5. Take action

All of the above is useless if you don’t take action. Just take the first step on your plan and you will be surprised how quickly things will change for you. But action is the only thing that will get you there.


With a plan and action, you can get yourself out from under your own debt.
